A bit about me

Hi my name is Melen. Welcome to my website.

With over three decades of dedicated practice in the field of counselling, I offer a confidential and compassionate therapeutic service from my private consulting spaces in Romford, Essex and Central London.

My approach is grounded in clinical integrity, emotional insight, and a deep respect for the individual journey. I am committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore personal challenges, enhance resilience, and achieve meaningful growth.

I also hold the role of clinical supervisor, overseeing the work of fellow therapists and counsellors. In this capacity, I provide reflective guidance, ethical oversight, and professional development support, ensuring that practitioners maintain high standards of care and continue to grow in their clinical competence.

I am skilled in engaging with clients of all races, ages, genders, sexualities, and abilities, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and respect

My counselling approach

I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Integrative methods.

Together, we will find the approach that best fits your needs, focusing on what feels most helpful for you and the challenges you’re facing right now.

My aim is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, find new ways of managing difficulties, and move toward a life that feels happier, more balanced, and more fulfilling.

Areas I counsel in

Over the past 30 years, I have supported clients across a broad spectrum of areas, with particular expertise in difference and diversity, including race, culture, and neurodiversity such as ADHD as well as dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.  I also support individuals experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and other mental health challenges. My work extends to those navigating bereavement, grief, baby loss, and pregnancy-related experiences including abortion and miscarriage. In addition, I help clients address issues such as low self-esteem, confidence, relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, as well as supporting drinkers and their families. I also provide guidance for those facing workplace bullying, stress, and challenges in managing work–family balance.
